Podcasted

The No Name Reading Series have been podcasting the readings by the talented work of creative writing graduate students. Back on March 26, 2010, I gave a reading. I read four poems from My Imaginary, and a poem from my dissertation on Matilda Fletcher.

Two weeks ago on November 12, I gave my reading at the No Name, reading poems from My Imaginary, Ghost Girl, and from my forthcoming Branding Girls.

The sound quality is really good. And what a wonderful addition to an already wonderful reading series.

My Imaginary at Zen’s, too

My No Name reading is today, Friday November 12 at 4pm at Zen’s Lounge on 11th Street just north of O. Excited? Me too. Here are three new audio recordings of poems from My Imaginary.

And, if I have time, I might even read from Branding Girls forthcoming from Finishing Line Press. Branding Girls goes on pre-sale later this month. Yippee!

Dissertation Poetry

I’ve been busily working on finalizing the order of my dissertation, the critical introduction, and making adjustments to the language of individual poems. Can you imagine, then, how I happy I am to have some of the Matilda poems (as I call them) accepted? Four anthologies, Compass Rose, and Naugatuck River Review have accepted Matilda poems. Pebble Lake Review accepted two poems for the Fall/Winter 2010 issue. I just finished recording “Family Address” and “I Find My Love: In Mr. Fletcher’s School” for the Pebble Lake Review Audio Project. And there are Matilda poems in the recent issues of Redheaded Stepchild, The Queen City, and Eclectica Magazine. Yeah! How awesome is all of this? I’m so glad I found Matilda, or maybe that Matilda found me.
